Siapa sangka semasa Planet Krypton hampir musnah JOR-EL telah melepaskan sebuah lagi kapal angkasa selepas KAL-EL yang berjaya mendarat di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Anaknya ini dinamakan Syahr-El...

Perm Cath vs. IJC

This is how the permanent cathether looks like. At least it's under my clothing not jotting out on my neck like the previous IJC. Hopefully this thing will last for years so that it need not be replaced. It's costly - rm1k at hkl and rm4k at a private hospital. Thank God i am an OKU so it's free for me. Alhamdulillah, syukur nikmat Allah.

Surgery a Success!

Alhamdulillah the permanent cathether insertion was successful. Insyaallah esok boleh rasmikan and hopefully the flow is ok. Of course this is again, temporary (but i do hope it would last years - some say it could last 7 year but that depends on how well i take care of this thing and hopefully no infection la). The doctors pun want me to go back to capd. Tengok la macamana nanti. If i do, another 2 surgery la nampaknya but what the heck, i'm superman. Even the doctor yang buat
insertion tadi pun cakap s i'm tough considering the things that have taken place in my life. Dalam hati Kal El cakap - superman kan… hehehe. Gambar: the dangling thingy near my armpit is the inlet/ outlet for dialysis. The tube was inserted at the previous ijc site tapi tak visible as it goes underneath the skin.

Congratulations Aizat & Pete Teo!

I consider this song 'berhantu'. It deserved to win Song of The Year at the 2009 AJL. Congratulations Aizat (tremendous achievement for this young man) and Pete Teo, an aspiring songwriter.

Every time I listen to this song I will shed tears. The song reminds me of my late mother (especially when in Talentime the song was sung after the character's mother's death. It also reminds me of the very much missed Allahyarhamah Yasmin Ahmad. Al-Fatihah.

And one day, I too will go...fare thee well..

Pergi

Sayu terpisah
Hikayat indah kini hanya tinggal sejarah
Berhembus angin rindu
Begitu nyamannya terhidu wangian kasihmu
Hujan lebat mencurah kini
Bagaikan tiada henti
Kaulah laguku kau irama terindah
Tak lagi kudengari
Kau pergi... pergi...
Sepi tanpa kata
Terdiam dan kaku tak daya kau kulupa
Apa pun kata mereka
Biarkan kenangan berbunga di ranting usia

Hujan lebat mencurah kini
Bagaikan tiada henti
Kaulah laguku kau irama terindah
Tak lagi kudengari
Kau pergi... pergi...

Hujan lebat mencurah kini
Bagaikan tiada henti
Kaulah laguku kau irama terindah
Tak lagi kudengari
Kau pergi... pergi...
Kau pergi... pergi...
Pergi...

Bravo Yasmin for the Long Awaited Muallaf

It took Malaysia 2 years to acknowledge a talented lady but too bad it's all after she was gone.

Muallaf was banned from Malaysian screening for what I believe was the dumbest and narrowest minded reason, especially when Malaysia is a Muslim country. I strongly feel that the one who should be banned is the actress not the movie if the reason behind the banning was really because a female is not supposed to shave her head bald.

I don't find the movie offensive in anyway but it amazed me for I have never thought there were brilliant kids who are 'religion-obsessed' like the main characters exist among us, not until I watched Muallaf. As 'religion-obsessed' as they may be they are not religiously-obsessed judging from the way the dress and the way they interact with their surrounding. Because they are exposed to many religious believes, they have become open minded, loving and respectful of others but never leaving behind the obligations and their faith to Allah - for example, they obligingly performed their solat.

To me, there's nothing wrong with quoting verses from other religions as long as what they quote brings goodness to themselves and others, for example when what is quoted is intended to give advise and as reminder for us to do good. For me, Muallaf was all about loving one another, about respecting oneself and others, about loving and respecting your parents, about forgiving and not holding grudges against others.

I would again say to Yasmin, SYABAS on a job well done. Too bad you're no longer with us...

Al-Fatihah Buat Tok Mat

It's So Scary as It's So Near

Well, not that nobody has ever died near my place of residence - some have died of tragic deaths in the 2008 Bukit Antarabangsa landslide - but I think this is something else, a possible murder (how could it not be a murder when the victim was tied and covered with bed sheet then placed in a closet in her room? Yup, there has been a murder in Pinggiran Ukay which is very, I tell you, very near to where I stay. This is scary and sad because such an unimaginable thing could happen so near to you. What if the murderer is a maniac serial killer who puts killing as one of his resolutions for 2010? Then we are all in danger, we could bump into him at the Mamak place or at Giant maybe Petronas for that matter.

What's worse, the victim, Allahyarhamah Fazlina Ahmad, 39, is a relative of my uni friend Farah Maizura. My condolences to her family and Al-Fatihah for Allahyarhamah. Below is a clipping of the news from the 31st Dec 2009 Sun edition.

The Sun (31st Dec 2009)
Police detain a woman in connection with body in closet case

daughter Mariam 5.

KUALA LUMPUR, (Dec 31, 2009) : Police have detained a woman, believed to be the companion of the husband of a woman who was found dead in a closet at Pinggiran Ukay here yesterday, to facilitate investigations.

Ampang Jaya District deputy police chief Supt Amiruddin Jamaluddin said the 22-year-old woman was detained at about 1.30am this morning.

"Police trailed and monitored the activities of the woman from 9pm yesterday after the husband of the victim had gone missing since the body of his wife was found dead in a closet," he told Bernama when contacted here today.

Yesterday, the victim, Fazlina Ahmad, 39, was found dead in a master bedroom closet of her house in Jalan Piggiran Ukay, with her mouth and nose wrapped with binding tape and covered with a piece of bed sheet.

Acting on a report from the victim's friend whose efforts to contact the victim were futile, police went to the house at about 9pm yesterday before discovering the body in the master bedroom of the double-storey house.

Amiruddin said police did not rule out family problem as the motive of the murder but said that police did not receive any report of abuse although the couple were married for about six years.

He added that Fazlina, a mother of two girls aged five and seven, was believed to have died due to suffocation about nine hours before the body was found but added that there were no marks or indication of any struggle.

"We are still waiting for the post-mortem report and looking for the victim's husband to assist investigations," he said.

Meanwhile, the elder sister of the victim, Faezah said she last met Fazlina, her youngest sister last Saturday when she returned to her hometown in Jelutong, Penang for holidays.

"My sister who came to Penang on Dec 26 had promised to return on Dec 30 to relate her problems...I guessed it must be her family problem," said Faezah when met at the Kuala Lumpur (HKL) mortuary.

"We have no knowledge of the problem between her and her husband ands when we received news of her death last night, we were shocked."-- BERNAMA

Bye Bye 2009, Hello 2010!

What have I gone through in 2009? - Hell

1. I've gotten a better job at a better place with a better pay.
2. I've also managed to survive with one leg.
3. I went through 8 months of 4 hourly CAPD treatment and had to go back to hemodialysis because of CAPD failure (yucks hate that but what to do lah?)
4. Got admitted to the hospital many times like never before in my whole 34 years of life.
5. I've known to appreciate the person I love most in life.
6. I've got to know whom I can depend on.
7. I also got to know not to trust someone too much because the risk of being hurt is intolerable.
8. I've owned a better car, something I really like and appreciate.
9. My health deteriorates each day I am given the chance to continue living but I am living each day happily (kalau tak happy pun sendiri buat-buat happy. Well, you live once and you will end up being alone no matter how many friends you have around you - ingat, dalam kubur tu sorang-sorang je tau) so there's no point of being or showing u're unhappy.
10. I have also become very sensitive, grumpy at times and a little selfish but selfish bertempat I'm pretty sure.
11. My body is being cut and poked here and there like a fish on a chopping board.
12. I've learned to keep my depression and disappointment to myself.
13. I realised that things planned aren't necessarily going to materialize, even if you've paid for it (e.g. the canceled Sulawesi and Medan trip, sigh)
14. I am reunited with a long lost best friend, Bakhlis, through Facebook.
15. I received an iPhone from my darling. Yay!
16. I got to own more Superman apparels. Yay!
17. I had to sell Mr. Kelly (Sob..sob...)
18. I had a 'visit' from arwah mummy somewhere in November and
19. I had lost another leg 8 days before my 34th birthday.

What I hope to accomplish in 2010?

1. To be more independent
2. To continue working so that I can pay off my debts
3. To save money for rainy days
4. To love when loved. To give when given.
5. To appreciate the person(s) who appreciates me
6. To have a new pair of Baju Melayu for Aidilfitri - the same color as my darling's
7. To learn to live with hemodialysis and the fact that I may have to be warded many more times this year
8. To succeed in claiming for the MRTA insurance so that one burden will be lifted off my shoulders
9. To go for a domestic vacation
10. To own many more Superman apparels (heheheheh kaya la Metrojaya sebab ni)

Dah cukup ler tu... 10 je. Yang lain simpan dalam hati dulu ek... ada rezeki ada ler...
