After the hospital visit at PPUM Amir and I had a pleasant surprise when Tris of Magada Entertainment (Sheila's management company) called and invited us to Sheila Majid's 25 Years Performance at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas KLCC earlier this month. This is the second time Sheila's performing there, the first was in the year 2000 and I gladly say I was there with by good buddies Shazril, Roy and Ray.
I was very happy indeed as we have tried booking the ticket but it was sold out within 2 days of sale. What I heard was fans queuing even before the box office opens. The event was for Prudential Agents. 95% who attended were from Prudential. The remaining 5% were guests of Sheila; her family, friends (Including Dato' Siti Nurhaliza and Dayang Nurfaizah) as well as ardent fans like me.
I was pleased to be seated at a very good seat where there were no restrictions to the views of the stage. As expected Sheila was spectacular that night. The jazz diva was indeed unbeatable when it comes to live performances. She was gorgeous and her dresses that night were really stunning and classy.
I don't remember fans dancing during Sheila's performance at the DFP but this time, audiences stood up and dance and sang out loud. It was a havoc but all of us enjoyed it. It must have been the first for DFP to have such chaos in the concert hall. I was so proud of her that tears fell when she sang her first song that night. Too bad I couldn't stand and dance with the rest but I sang my heart out to her songs. I also missed giving her a standing ovation, how I wish I could stand and honor her.
I just hope Magada and Sheila will release a 'Sheila Majid and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra' album. I'm positive that it will be a hit. To Sheila, I love you so much. You've entertained me with your songs these 25 years and I pray for your everlasting success. You're a legenda Sheila.
