Best of Friends Forever @ Chili's KLCC

Syahr El telah berpeluang menemui dua-rakan karib;  Mahid dan Roy di Chili's KLCC beberapa minggu lalu. Mereka berdua telah Syahr El kenal selama 17 tahun sejak kami belajar di Pusat Pendidikan Persediaan, Institut Teknologi MARA (PPP/ITM) di Seksyen 17 Shah Alam. Mahid dan Syahr El, we were roomates for about three years semasa kami tinggal di blok 17 di asrama Seksyen 18 Shah Alam. Roy pula tinggal di tingkat bawah bilik kami. Syahr El dan Roy juga pernah tinggal bersama semasa sesi practical kami di Sekolah Menengah Seksyen 18 dan tinggal bersebelahan bilik di tahun akhir kami di Kamsis B UKM. I wish that many more of our best friends were there that day; Shazril Helmi, Wan Irham and Azzuhri - these are my best boyfriends and we have gone through most of our early adulthood together.

I love these people so much. Mereka ni dah macam adik beradik Syahr El sendiri. Banyak rahsia Syahr El yang kami kongsi bersama dan banyak juga susah senang yang kami lalui bersama. Tetapi tidak dinafikan yang persahabatan kami memang sesuatu yang menyeronokkan, terutamanya semasa kami tinggal bersama di Seksyen 18 Shah Alam dahulu.

Kawan-kawan karib Syahr El ini semuanya berjaya dalam hidup dan bidang mereka, alhamdulillah syukur pada Allah yang kami semua dapat menikmati kesenangan hidup atas rezeki yang diberiNya.

Shazril, kawan paling rapat semasa di PPP dulu, beliaulah orang pertama yang Syahr El tegur dan bercakap semasa sesi pendaftaran di PPP tahun 1993 dulu. Dan lebih menarik lagi kami telah ditempatkan di bilik yang sama. Beliau kini bertugas di Bangkok selama 3 tahun.

Wan Irham pula ialah satu-satunya rakan dalam kumpulan kami yang telah berumah tangga dan mempunyai seorang anak. Beliau bersama isterinya Shafinah sedang meneruskan pengajian untuk Doktor Falsafah (PhD) di Kuala Lumpur. Mereka berdua adalah pensyarah di Universiti Teknologi MARA di Sungai Petani.

Roy pula sedang bertugas di Universiti Kuala Lumpur dan telah memenangi Anugerah Pendidikan baru-baru ini dari UniKL. Roy ialah seorang ahli sukan dalam bidang yang handal badminton, basketball dan bowling (Hmmmm semuanya bermula dengan huruf B heheheh) 

Mahid pula adalah seorang pensyarah di Kolej Matrikulasi di Labuan. Mahid ni very special orangnya kerana dia sentiasa happy. Tak pernah menunjukkan dirinya sedang mengalami sebarang masalah dan sentiasa ceria. Oleh kerana kami berkongsi bilik di PPP selama 3 tahun dulu, banyak rahsia Syahr El yang dikongsikan bersama Mahid sehingga kini.

Azzuhri pula ialah sahabta karib Roy. Mereka selalu kelihatan bersama semasa di Universiti dulu. Azzuhri juga seperi Mahid, selalu ceria dan tak pernah menunjukkan jika dia ada masalah. Azzuhri adalah satu-satunya rakan kami yang menjadi guru sekolah menengah dan kini berkhidmat di Kota Kinbalu.

Harapan Syahr El agar persahabtan kami ini berpanjangan sehingga ke akhir hayat. Mereka inilah sahabat sejati yang boleh diharap dalam susah dan senang. Mereka selalu mengambil berat tentang diri Syahr El dan rajin bertanya khabar, terutamanya Mahid yang kerap berhubung melalui SMS walaupun dia jauh di Labuan.

Untuk Shazril, Wan, Mahid, Roy dan Zurry, terima kasih atas pesahabatn selana 17 tahun ini. Syahr El amat sayangkan kalian.

Pada hari tersebut kami berbual sakan sambil makan tengahari bersama. Thanks to Roy and Mahid sebab belanja Syahr El dan Amir sempena hari jadi Syahr EL yang ke 35. Kami telah berkongsi berbagai cerita tentang kehidupan kami yang terkini. 

Sebagai starters kami telah berkongsi memesan Wings Over Buffalo (first photo).  I ordered the Suthwesterm Quesadilla (third photo). Ok la rasa dia, somewhat like Nachos juga. Amir ordered his usual  Country Fried Chicken (second photo) while Roy ordered the Fajita Trio (fourth photo). Mahid pula ordered Mushroom Jack Fajitas (last photo). Mahid's mushrooms looked a bit burnt but he said it tasted fine.

Lepas dialysis on Friday Syahr El ajak Amir pi KLCC untuk cari hand grip strap for my new SONY a55 kat SONY Center tapi takde stok pulak. SO we went around tengok-tengok itu ini dan terbeli lah beberapa item disekitar Suria KLCC tu. 

Penat berjalan (Syahr El naik kerusi roda la kan tapi penat la jiugak duduk tu) kami decide to go to Chili's for dinner. Waiting time was 30 minutes dan kami jalan la lagi.

For starters we ordered our usual - Jack Nachos with Fajita Beef dan Garlic Bread. syahr El sukalah kalau makan Nachos ni dengan Amir sebab dia tak makan the jalapenyos (betul ke eja ni?) and I love them so much. Maka bertimpa timpa cili tu atas Nachos saya. Nyum Nyum! I also love Chili's punya garlic bread sebab terasa garlic dan kelembutan rotinya.

Untuk mains, Syahr El ordered Mesquite Salad yang ada boneless breast in cajun dan juga beef bacon. Sedap juga makan salad ni. Maklumlah kan Syahr El on a one meal a day salad replacement plan (kononnya nak kurus sebab dah put on 4kgs beberapa minggu ni) tapi serving salad ni memang sungguh banyak, macam untuk 2 ekor kambing makan....emmmmbeeekkkkkk!

AMir, as usual dia akan order Country Fried Chicken, tak muak-muak dia ni makan benda ni... apa pun Syahr El tetap rindu kat Chili's Country Fried Steak. Memang sedap bangat tapi sayangnya dah discontinued benda alah tu. Apa jugak la Chili's ni benda sedap dia pi discontinue pulak kan? Air pulak, Syar El ordered Lemonade while Amir ordered Iced Lemon Tea.

Alvin and The Chipmunks 2 n Chili's KLCC

It was an exciting night - yep, especially after not going to the movies for a very long while - our last was GI Joe for the department's outing - and that was a couple or maybe three or four months back. It looks like we have to postpone my plans for a cuti-cuti Malaysia for the time being for a couple of factors. One, we're saving or our Siem Reap trip end of January 2010 and two, it is the end of the year, most highways would be jammed packed and of course we wouldn't want to waste our time on the road. I guess those are a couple of valid reasons. Hmmm I'm actually planning a surprise Penang trip to Hard Rock Hotel for February next year. Menarik tuh!

So because of the postponement of our domestic trip to February next year, I would've to settle and be happy with little treats like going to the movies. Jadik la....

The Chipmunks and The Chipettes (The Cartoon Series)

It was Alvin and the Chipmunks and of course like the first installment of my all time favorite cartoon series when I was a kid (the first movie was better and funnier, I think!) we both enjoyed and laughed out loud especially when the female chipmunks were introduced as 'The Chippets' - somehow it brings a dirty meaning to those who understand what Chipet means hehehehe. (If you don't know gofind out) - well, when we were kids our minds were not as corrupted to even think the group's name sounded dirty... ish...ish...ish...naughty us! Overall, the movie was fun- who wouldn't enjoy the cute voices of The Chipmunks and The Chippets?

To note that was the first time I went to the movies on a wheelchair. TGV (at least at KLCC) is OKU friendly as they had ramps to the movie houses and they have seats specially for OKUs.

Before the movies we had dinner at Chili's. Heheheheh mana lagi kalau tak kat situ kan bila dah ke KLCC. I had the Cajun Ribeye Steak and KN had what else, the Country Fried Chicken. For starters seperti biasa, menu wajib - Nachos but this time with added Fajita Beef - hmmmm Chili's menu seems to change quite frequently lately ni... kejap-kejap lain and honestly I miss some of their old line up.

It was a fun night and KN promised to take me out to watch Muallaf sometime soon! Can't wait lor...

Buka Puasa @ Chili's KLCC

Before falling sick hari tu, on the 3rd day of Ramadhan, we managed to visit our favourite dining place - Chili's! Actually masa kat Jeddah lagi on the way back to KL dah teringat Chili's just because we saw an outlet there. So, dengan nafsu bulan posa ni, we went to Chili's untuk memuaskannya... (huhuhu).

As usual, we would order their classic Nachos (a must, never missed so far) as starters. KN had the Country Fried Chicken (again, I feel they should re introduce their Country Fried Steak) but this time the Country Fried Chicken was served with Fried instead of with Mashed Potatoes. Hmmm I prefer with Mashed Potatoes... I had the lamb shoulder - server with black pepper sauce but I of course asked for Mint Sauce.

Something was a miss this time Ramadhan at Chili's as they did not have a Ramadhan set menu like they usually do but fortunately they did not forget to serve Kurma with our dish. For drinks we ordered Ice Lemon Tea from the fountain maka banyak la Kal El telan air, thus worsen my water retention problem... padan muka kan?

Chili's Country Fried Steak Discontinued

Yucks! Hate it! That was my first impression when knowing that my favourite country fried steak has been discontinued. When I asked the waiter why - he doesn't know. But I think Chili's has gone through some changes recently (with the new menu and slow service).

Yes, slow service. Many times previously when we dined there, the waiter/waitresses was soon at our table taking orders after we're seated. We often had to ask him or her to come back in 5 minutes time (rather annoyed usually) but this time, we had to call the waiter after waiting for more than 5 minutes looking for an available waiter. The queue for a table at KLCC Chili's too were not as many as previous times.

The lamb dish - can't recall its fancy name but it's lamb, believe me heheheh.

Dip it with mint sauce... heavennnnn! The garlic toast is not bad too.

So, feeling disappointed (they still have the country friend chicken though but I wan not in the mood for that) so I ordered a Lamb dish (ahahah extremely good for my hypertension, NOT!), and KN the country fried chicken (and so I was glad I didn't order it because it didn't taste as good as the discontinued country fried steak) and our all time favourite classic nachos, of course, a glass of diet (konon lah) coke for me and ice lemon tea as usual for KN.

The lamb was OK especially dipped with mint sauce, but now I know not to order it well done - medium rare should be it hehehe and now I am salivating at the office. Damn!

Can't Wait for Tonite... Our Postponed Valentine's Dinner

Yep, it's a belated Valentine's Dinner at one of our favourites diner -

This year is unlike previous years where we had our Valentine's dinner on Valentine's day. Due to some unavoidable reasons we had to reschedule the dinner to... TONIGHT! What's best is I don't have to fork out a single cent because it's going to be KN's treat hehehehe. Thanks in advance my love!

Since I have been craving for country fried steak... that's just what i'm going to order tonight yummmmmmmmmy!
